Hey. I’m Chris, a.k.a. “Opher,” “Harry,” “Marmalade” ; ) I’m a researcher (postdoc), musician, and left left liberal. Originally from Miami (FL). I’ve been living in the co-op (Helms Deep) for the past 6 months; originally as a kind of personal experiment, with relatively few expectations. Life in the co-op has been full of challenges, surprises and lots of unforeseen benefits! For example, the idea of cooking for 12 others, or for potlucks—with even larger numbers—initially terrified me. In the co-op I’ve had the opportunity to cook with several more experienced chefs, and now I genuinely love cooking for large numbers (the larger, the better!) It has also been great seeing what wonderful things can come from building community—when people pool their minds, efforts and resources!
